Kobe's Big Game Has NBA Abuzz

Mark Montieth of THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR writes, “Cell phones were buzzing throughout the NBA late Sunday night and early Monday morning, as Kobe Bryant unleashed his 81-point offensive on Toronto. New Jersey's Jeff McInnis called teammate Vince Carter to make sure he was watching. Minnesota's Wally Szczerbiak called his father. Miami's Gary Payton called teammate Antoine Walker. "Everybody was calling," Miami guard Dwyane Wade said. "I think everybody called every player in the league. That's history right there." Bryant's phone, in fact, was ringing even before he met with reporters to discuss his stunning performance. Magic Johnson was calling. "For him to just call me and tell me what a great game it was and how proud of me he is meant more to me than the 81 points," Bryant said.
