happy holidays.
in the name of the father, of the son, and of the holy spirit, amen.
as the birth of your son is hours away, we would like to thank you for all the blessings you have bestowed upon us for this past year. although we have repayed you through others with sharp tongues, misplaced anger, and gun-pointing while in traffic, you never turned your back at us, and for this we are eternally grateful.
bless us those with sharp tongues, that we may learn to think before we speak. help us discern within ourselves that words are murderous, and could inflict deeper wounds than the deadliest sword.
guide us who have anger in our hearts, that we may put it where it belongs; nowhere. grant our hearts peace, and better judgement.
and for us who have a habit of poking guns at others while in traffic for that momentary high of false superiority, power, and virtuousness, may we learn to control ourselves. help us remember that you have created no one above anyone else, and that guns are mere constructs of our own cowardice and shortcomings. they dont and will never make us better.
dear lord, forgive us for wishing ill luck to those who have hurt us, in one way or another, most especially to the gun-toting bastards we have mentioned above. forgive us for not being able to forgive, for being all too human. bless and guide the families of these assholes in this season of joy. grant them all the splendor in the world -- where they have sowed hatred, let them reap endless satisfaction and peace; instead of an eternal imprisonment in the fiery depths of hell, help them appreciate not only their own lives but of others as well.
and lastly, forgive me for this mockery of a prayer, sincere as it may sound.
amen.
guns dont kill people. assholes who think guns make them better men do.
merry christmas everyone.
